Rising Stars Application
MIT Chemical Engineering

MIT Chemical Engineering

This workshop brings together women who are interested in careers in academia, for two days of scientific interactions and career-oriented discussions. It will include research talks as well as presentations on aspects of life in academia -- from finding a faculty position to parameters of success as a junior faculty member. Participants will have the opportunity to present their ongoing research, to interact informally with our faculty members and to receive advice for advancing their careers.

Eligibility: Applicants must be female doctoral students and post-docs who aspire to submit faculty applications to chemical engineering departments in the Fall 2025 or later. Individuals already holding faculty positions or submitting faculty applications in Fall 2024 will not be accepted. Women who are currently graduate students or postdocs in the ChemE department at MIT may be eligible to enter a lottery for two available slots. A faculty advisor of internal candidates should submit a letter of support that addresses intent to apply for a faculty job in 2025 and readiness to do so, including publication record.

Applications are due May 17, 2024.
